This is a super easy project that you can do with the family.

Before you throw away that mixed Play-doh take a look at this.

Play-doh Hearts for the win.

This garland it's so easy your kids will help.

Ok Gather all the old mixed play-doh you have or you can buy air dry molding dough. I used wha tI had left in the house.

Mic it all and roll out about a finger thick. About a 1/4 of an inch thick.

Before you cut them make sure your dough is well blended - Use the play-doh cutting molds or cookie cutter to the shape you want. I chose Stars and Hearts fo this You can use bunny shape for easter, Christmas tree, Pumpkins.... Use your imagination

Now you will use a bobby pin to create the hooks or metal paper clips. You will need to bak so use something that has no plastic.

they will look like this

Once hooked place them on a lined cookie sheet

Now bake them. Keep an eye on them because I used regular play-doh I flipped them after 40 mins on each side. Baking them too much will make them hollow and crack. Most of my stars cracked open.

Once baked and cooled- go ahead and paint them whatever color you want I wanted an ombre look so I used 2 paints for this project.

After painted you need to put them on the ribbon . I used a Pom Pom ribbon found at the dollar spot at target, I did not have to tight them because they were very secured. You can use natural twine and tight around the bobby pin so they don't move out of place.

Final look. I arranged them from lighter to dark to create the ombre look.

I had fun making this project. Hope you like too.

You stated finger thick then 1/4 inch, which is it? There is a big difference with my finger.

Hi, you said 40 min was a bit long and some cracked. Have you managed to work out how long to cook each side. Also what temperature. I am a bit unsure as this is not sculpy or polly. Many thanks in advance for your replie Kay Abelaide Australia

use aluminum foil inside the play doh for the thickness desired & just a thin layer of play doh around the foil, that way the playdoh won't crack - needs less baking time too. (the foil is an 'armature' supporting the clay - always use one when making clay builds - foil, or even add coat hangers to shape large sculptures, otherwise the thickness of clay will make cracks whether bake or air-dry)

Sweet idea. The ribbon with the hearts looks adorable.
