Photo Shadow Box

This inexpensive and easy project is great for displaying photos, cards, children's artwork, etc....
I like to change out my photos too. It's so much easier than using frames.
First off, find yourself an old drawer. This one is from a desk I deconstructed. But if you keep your eyes open, you can find them on the side of the road. Don't be afraid to stop and grab them.
I then taped off my edges and painted the inside with a dark grey chalk paint. You could also use wall paper, contact paper or mod podge just about anything to the inside for your back ground.
I removed the handle and sanded it up a bit to take off that glossy look and make it appear more vintage.
I purchased this little kit for under 2.00 at Walmart. This is really the only thing I purchased for this project.
Then screw in your little eye hooks. Make sure you measure down on each side so they line up for your "little clothes line".
Then use the wire in that kit. It's very easy to work with. Just wrap it through one eye and twist the end around itself. Then pull quite tightly and do the same on the other side. You can use needle nose plyers if you prefer.
I used these tiny clothespins I had purchased at Dollar General in the craft section.
I only did three rows because I knew I wanted to use some bigger pictures, but you could certainly do more if you're only using small pics.

So be on the look out for those old drawers on the side of the road or just stop and yank them out of that piece furniture someone had put out to the trash!!

I really like this. I have everything at home already to do this project. I can't wait to get started on it.

Keep a eye out for the finished product.
