Garage Sale Vintage Iron Utensil Upcycle

I never know if I will come across great stuff at garage sales, but the prices are usually very good.

This bundle of vintage iron utensils for $1 was a great buy. The utensils were never meant to be used in cooking, just for decor. I decided they needed a little something to make them pop on the kitchen wall.

First I washed the utensil set, along with other finds in hot soapy Dawn Dish Soap water.

The Home Interiors copper pan set was upcycled in a blog post HERE. The metal flower pot with ring handles was also upcycled in another blog post HERE.

Next I spray painted all of the metal pieces with a few coats of Rustoleum white primer.

Next I brushed on Dixie Belle Paint in four different colors on the utensils including Barn Red, Colonel Mustard, Vintage Duck Egg, and Fluff. The utensil hanger was painted with Caviar.

I purchased this Show Offs adhesive stencil set at Hobby Lobby.

I added the stencils on all of the utensils except for the slotted spoon or ladle.

The utensils were sealed with Dixie Belle Easy Peasy Wax.

The upcycled utensils will work in a farmhouse or boho style kitchen.
