See how I transformed this dated thrift store wall vase into a gorgeous farmhouse gallery wall piece for our home!

I picked up this drab metal wall vase from the thrift store. I think I paid $2 for it. I almost did not get it. Sure glad I did. I decided to give it a little farmhouse makeover, so I could add it to our gallery wall.

The first thing I did was paint it black. I then painted it white. I used acrylic paint from Walmart. I knew it wasn't going to be in the elements or be moved around, so I didn't need a sturdier paint.

After the white layer dried, I then sanded the entire piece to bring the black color, the green color, and the original metal color through the white. That gave it a rustic, weathered appearance that is so popular right now.

I added several bunches of lavender to the opening, using hot glue, and attached a burlap bow to the bottom. That was it! It was then ready for our farmhouse gallery wall! Isn't it gorgeous!?

Check out the before and after! We love how it turned out!

I'm sure you have a piece that you've been waiting to transform. I hope this gives you inspiration to give that piece a makeover!
