DIY Dishcloth Tapestry
Make an easy botanical tapestry using a dishcloth and paint
Variegated monstera tapestry on hanger
Green dishcloths from amazon.com, Make sure whatever kind you get is not a fluffy towel. Material should be similar to a shirt.
Magnetic hanger from amazon.com
Use the white pencil to draw the monstera outline. I worked off photos I found of real monsteras.
If you aren't good at drawing, you can buy a stencil. You can find them at craft stores or online. You can also make your own stencil using paper/cardboard and an exacto knife. The most time consuming steps are this one and the painting part. You could easily do this in less time with a stencil!
Paint the outline and color in the leaves with white acrylic paint. I looked at photos of variegated monsteras and tried different white patterns for each leaf. I initially used a thin brush but ended up switching to bigger brushes to color in larger parts.
This is a floral piece I did using sharpie and black acrylic paint on a white dishcloth.
Note: be careful ironing because some parts may stretch weirdly and look warped - not an issue if you frame it instead of using the magnetic hanger
