After living here for almost 2 years, it was time to finally get some house numbers! I was a little overwhelmed with the variety of fonts/materials/sizes/etc available and I didn’t love anything I was coming across in stores. I stumbled upon Dropcap Studio online and their customization made this update so easy! You can browse their products at dropcapstudio.com

Free customization!

After emailing them a photo of your space, they will send you back images of options designed by their team. You can also request to see any font and color combination! They even showed me what my numbers would look like in different areas of my exterior. This is an amazing service offered free of charge, which really guarantees you will love the final result! Here is my mock up photo they sent me in the font I chose.

Start With a Blank Slate

Make sure your area is all clean and free of dirt and dust.

Apply Template

What really made installing these numbers so easy is the template Dropcap provides. Math is not my strong point, so having this created saved me a ton of time and peace of mind! This blueprint will have your numbers laid out with precise measurements and spacing between each piece. Just use some painters tape to mount to your surface and then a level to make sure it’s straight.

Mark Your X’s

The template will also have X’s marked where the screws will be mounted. Use a sharpie to mark them until they bleed through the transfer paper.

Drill Holes

Remove the template and your marker points should be visible. Use a drill to drill holes for your screw pegs. We used a masonry bit since we were working with concrete and stucco, but depending on your media, a normal bit might work just fine.

Screw in Pegs

Unpackage the numbers and hardware and screw the pegs into the back.

Dry Fit

Test out your holes by making sure the numbers easily fit into them. Don’t push in all the way, we’re just checking the fit at this point.

Silicone to Fit

Once everything has been double checked, grab some standard silicone and squeeze some into your holes and then insert your numbers to your desired depth. I chose to mount mine right up to the wall.

Tape to Dry

After all the numbers have been installed, use painters tape to secure over them until the caulk has completely hardened. I left mine taped overnight, just for good measure.

Remove, Clean and Enjoy!

Once silicone has set, remove the painters tape and the protective covering on your numbers. Wipe off any dust and enjoy your beautiful custom house numbers!
