Mason Jar Wall Hanging

This is a cute and simple project that I think would make a great Mother’s Day gift. You could use real flowers or artificial ones. Let’s get started!

Supplies you’ll need:

mason jar

board

hook

chain

screw driver

pliers

twine

paint or stain

I got this chain off the Dollar Store hanging basket. I used my pliers to take one stand off the hook.

Then put both ends on my twine like a U shape.

Then spaced it on my jar on each side

Then I tied it around a couple of times and finished with a bow.

I sanded my board that Lowe’s cut for me for no charge. It’s 19” x 5.5” wide.

I used a grey stain by Minwax using an old sock and wiped it all over the wood, even the back as it just gives a nice finished look.

Next, I centered the hook I purchased at Lowe’s and screwed it down.

On the back I added a saw tooth hook for hanging.

I then hung my jar on and decided I didn’t care for the black chain.

So I sprayed it with Rustoleum in nickel to match the hook. I then let it dry.

Now it was perfect!

I added flowers but you can add whatever you like - succulents, real or artificial flowers, even a candle or decorative sticks.

This makes a great gift. Here it is hanging on the wall next to my farmhouse windmill. You can find the tutorial here: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/walls/faux-finish-farmhouse-windmill-34925785

This turned out great and it’s a simple project for around $10. Find more great DIY on my new YouTube channel Gilbert Marketplace
