4th of July Paper Fireworks
I'm in California and our lockdown is slowly being lifted, but supplies in stores are still hard to get. Most of our stores didn't receive 4th of July decorations. So this was a DIY made from supplies I already had around the house. This will be great for your kids to make with you as well.
Craft paper
Toilet paper rolls
Ruler ( I couldn't find mine, so I had to us the one with the calculator)
Glue
Tape
Ribbon, or wrapping paper ribbon works
Skewers
Fire cut your square to put around the paper roll.
For this I cut 6in by 5in.
On the side that is 6in in length, cut about half inch lines all the way across.
Fold the cuts down.
Using the glue, wrap the craft paper around the roll. The 5 inch is in length. Make sure the top cuts you made are pointing outward.
This is what it should look like.
Draw a circle and cut it out. Mine was 4 1/2 inches in width.
Make a cut that goes half way, or to the middle of the circle.
With each end of the circle over lap the ends and glue together.
Apply glue to the top of the roll and apply the top.
Make sure every lip is pushed down.
Tape the skewer to the inside of the roll
Cut to strips on the ribbon to the desired length, then fold it in half.
Tape it to the inside like you did the skewer.
Put into your centerpiece of choice.
