DIY Fun Idea's for the 4th of July Using Items Mostly From Dollar Tree
I thought it would be fun to see what I could come up with items from Dollar Tree to use for the 4th of July holiday!
So I started with the shiny silver plastic platter.
I knew I wanted to make a sign out of it and didn't want the shiny silver, so I took it outside and used white spray paint.
I used my silhouette to create and cut out a vinyl decal for my sign, and I chose to go with "Happy 4th of July"
I placed it onto my sign and then to give it a more rustic look, I used some black acrylic paint and a sponge brush to go around the rim, edges, and various places on the sign.
To dress it up further I added a glittery bow using hot glue.
I also added some glittery foam stars.
Love how this turned out! To get it to stand up I simply took the back off of an old picture Frame we didn't use and hot glued it to the back, but could have easily used a photo easel etc.
I wanted something to use as an ice bucket, so I decided to try out a white bin. I used my hot glue gun to attach some star foil garland that I picked up around the top of the bin.
I also added a glitter bow.
I thought this large clear plastic bowl would be a perfect cover for a plate of cupcakes or snacks.
So I turned it upside down and added a foam star for the handle.
I could've used a knob or something but I thought the star would be fun for the holiday.
Here is a look at the items pulled together.
I simply used some bandana's that I had on hand, a glass cake stand to add in more cupcakes, as well as some star printed napkins that I picked up along with a glass star, and a red, white, and blue pillar candle from dollar tree.
I hope this gives you an idea or two or inspires you to think of other uses and purposes for items! I am really happy with how that sign turned out.. so fun.
Blessings!
