With a little treated wood, minimal tools, and piece of marble, you can make a fantastic garden table.

Setting up the legs

Using a 12' 4x4 post, I cut 4 legs at 36"

Then I cut a top frame and shelf frame out of 1x4.

since I was working with a piece of marble I already had, I made the table top 19"x 37 1/2 "

Attach top and bottom frame

Using a level and square ruler, I screwed the 1x4 to the top of the each post and a foot from the bottom.

Making bottom shelf

Place wood slats for bottom shelf. Using 1x4 wooden slats I had from another project, I screwed each slat to the frame.

Need a neat top!

This marble top came from a coffee table that I no longer used. So, I placed it on top of the work bench for a little pizazz!

You can use any metal, ceramic tile, or cut wooden slats for the top.

Love the finished project

With scrap tin, I cut 8 rectangular pieces 4"x8 " long. Then bent them in half and screwed to corner of table. I finished off the tin with a sealant to inhibit rusting. I made this table for our new greenhouse, but now I'm thinking of using it on the patio!

Wow! You did a fabulous job! It's wonderful and looks very heavy and very professional. I might have to copy this idea at some point down the road. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this project. I’m going to modify it for a sofa table!
