I was given a small end table when a friend moved. It was small and in need of some cleaning up. I decided to paint and finish it.

Dust off and remove door

I wiped the furniture with a clean dust rag. Then I began to remove the door using a Phillips screwdriver. I removed the hinges And knob completely and set them aside. I also chose to remove the metal decal near the top of the door.

Begin painting

I chose a plaster colored chalk paint for the base coat. I applied it using a small paint brush. I painted one good coat and let dry overnight.

Second coat

I applied a second coat, this time adding some baby blue metallic paint to the chalk paint. I just wanted a hint of the color as I had plans on applying a wax finish once it dried. I let that dry completely.

Mix and apply wax finish

I mixed my own wax for the top coat using clear wax, baby blue metallic paint, and just a little water. I applied it using a paint brush then let it dry.

Install door and knob

I installed the door using original knob and hinges with a Phillips screwdriver.

Add clear wax

Add a coat of clear wax to protect and let dry.

Finish

Added wax till I was happy with finish and placed table in living room.
