Summer is the perfect time for adding fun pops of color around the house and these bottle cap magnets are perfect for the kitchen. These magnets are so easy to make and another great way to use up felt scraps. Disney’s Up movie is one of my favorites and the “Ellie badge” was my inspiration for these.

If you have a collection of jar lids, pull them out because this is a great way to use them.

Cut out a circle the same size as your lid in the color of your choice.

Place the cirlce onto a white (or gray) piece of felt. Cut the white felt into a larger circle.

Now decorate your bottle cap with embroidery floss and felt. You can look at pictures online of bottle caps if you need ideas on how to decorate them.

Use your hot glue gun to glue a magnet to the center of your magnet. Glue the lid to the backside of your felt. Glue around the bottle cap, pressing the felt onto the lid. Leave small spaces that aren't glued to the lid to create the bottle cap look.

Trim off any access white felt that hangs below the lid.

Aren't these adorable?
