I’ve finally finished my laundry room makeover. The last touch was my light fixture. I was so happy to find the perfect basket for this project. I had to find one that had a hard bottom in order to drill a hole for the bulb to fit.

Below is the before picture,

  • While this fixture is great, I wanted a more Indy/ casual look and I bought these amazing bulbs which Are so cool.
Basket

So here’s what I did...I found this sturdy wooden basket for only $16 and knew it would be perfect for my humongous light bulb!

Cutting the handles

Here I had my husband cut the handles off with cutting pliers.

Next step...we measured where to cut out the hole for the bulb to fit through.

Using a spade bit, we drilled the hole. I attached the bulb through the shade to a porcelain keyless ceiling mount .

Thanks for stopping by!

Here is the bulb that I used. I found this one at our local Habitat.

Here is what I used to mount my fixture. You can buy this at your local hardware store for under $4

This is really cool. What room is this in??

I have a round light in my bathroom. Think this would be cool. Saw a metal basket at $🌲.

Bet it wasn't to hard to change fixture to porcelain one.
