Now let’s be honest... Would it be a Nicole-Juarez-monthly-post without a Dollar Tree canvas print revamp?! I think not! As my supply of scrap oak boards and Dollar Tree canvases dwindles I decided to get one more revamp out of my diminishing supply. I used colors that match my laundry room to tie it in to my existing decor. This is a super simple art piece that ANYONE can do. Here is how I did it.

I started out with the canvas and some leftover wall paint.

After two coats the print was completely covered.

Using the random colors I had on hand I created a color palette to match my decor.... and by decor I mean the single DIY “wash” sign and class jar I have setting on my DIY scrap board shelf..... Did I mention this laundry room is still a work in progress?!

I could have stopped here but I have no “chill” and felt that the sign needed a little something extra...

With my finger I added swipes of gold paint...

I hated it... my canvas looked like it had leprosy!!! 😫

I went back and removed some of the spots and spread them out with my finger so that they were gold shimmer “swipes” on the canvas rather than gold shimmer lesions!!!... SO MUCH BETTER!!

It was now time to cut my oak. Same process as before...

Miter the corners...

Nail into place...

Done!

I mean... she’s not bad yal!!! I am by no means Picasso... but... that’ll do!!
