Do you want to make DIY Fall decorations on a budget? I found 2 packages of large leaves at Walmart for $1 each. Here’s how to make 2 DIY fall leaf decorations with them. You can see more of my crazy creations here

For this project you’ll need:

  • Faux Fall Leaves
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Stencil Letters
  • Folk Art Home Decor Chalk Paint
  • Gold Paint Pen
  • Twine

I found these large leaves at Walmart for $1 each. Each package had 6 leaves and they were different styles of leaves.

I bought one package of maple leaves and one of oak leaves.

Using the maple leaves first, I placed a stencil letter “F” onto the leaf.

You can use stencil tape to hold your stencil in place if you like.

I used my Plaid Stencil Brush and Folk Art Home Decor Chalk Paint in the color Sheepskin.

I added the paint to my brush, then off loaded as much as I could onto a paper plate to prevent bleeding under my stencil.

I then pounced my paint brush up and down onto the stencil adding the paint to the leaf. You can see this action better in my DIY Fall Leaf Decoration Video below.

I continued doing this to 3 more leaves using the letters A & L creating the word Fall.

I let the paint dry completely.

I set leaves in the order I wanted them to be in and hot glued them into place.

I cut a piece of twine and hot glued that into place so that I could hang my fall leaf decoration on my door.

You could hang this fall decoration in several different places.

For my second project I hot glued the fall oak leaves together in a line.

For this one I used my Sharpie Paint Pen in gold to write on the letters for the word Autumn.

You could stencil these as well or use another color of your choice.

I hung this garland or banner onto my mantel.

I love how both projects turned out. Since I had most of the materials on hand these 2 DIY fall leaf decorations only cost me $2.

I love these but I’d really like to know where you got those huge leaves?
