You may have heard about stripping your laundry. Be sure to check out this easy DIY to strip your face masks. Warning, this is gross and you will want to go get some Oxyclean asap.

Wash Your Face Masks

Wash your face masks as you normally do in the washing machine. Don't dry them.

Gather Your Items

Gather a bucket of warm water and a 1/2 scoop of Oxyclean. There should be enough water that all of the masks will be submerged and then some.

Pour in your OxyClean

Pour in the Oxyclean and give it a stir.

Add your masks.

Put the masks in and stir to be sure they are all fully submerged. Wait 1 hour.

Be prepared for gagging.

The water may be very gross like this. These were masks we'd washed and dried in the washing machine 10+ times when I stripped them. I don't think this is dye although, I can't be sure. I do know that I will be stripping often and recommend you do too.

After this I wrung them out and washed and dried like normal. Voila!

Such a smart and excellent idea for mask cleaning, especially since we will be wearing these masks into 2021. With this COVID-19 monster out there, one can never be too clean!!

Thank you so much for sharing!

After I wear my mask I spray the inside and outside with a bleach mixture (spray bottle 4cups water and 2 tablespoons bleach). Then I wash them in a mesh bag regular cycle. I usually drip dry my masks
