Trash to Tresure - Half Circle Side Table

Here is yet ANOTHER one of my trash to treasure makeovers. A neighbor was getting rid of this cute half circle side table so I grabbed it.

In the past couple of months I have made some decent money making over and selling furniture that either myself, my husband, or friends find for me on the curb waiting for the garbage trucks (or waiting for someone like me to come snatch them up). However, I did decide to keep this one.

Check out all my other trash to treasure and thrift store makeovers.

Here is the half circle side table….

Step 1 – Trash to Treasure – End Table Makeover – Paint….

Using materials I already had on hand made this one of my easiest makeovers to date. All I did was paint it! I did not sand first. As you can see the table was in good shape, I just wanted to lighten it up at bit since the black color did not match my decor.

I painted the legs white and the top Organic Green, and that’s it.

I did try using some Chalk Finish Antiquing Wax in Dark Vintage that I have been loving. I tried it on both the legs and the top, but I wasn’t liking the result so I wiped it off before it dried. Instead of the wax, I ended up sanding some of the white paint off on the legs only, to make it look a little distressed.

Step 2 – Seal with Polycrylic

The last step in any of my makeovers is to seal the paint with MinWax Polycrylic. I used 2 coats on this piece.

That is it. It seriously doesn’t get much easier than this. Next time you are thinking about getting rid of a piece of furniture because you don’t like the color anymore, consider painting it. It is really not that hard and if you use chalk paint you don’t even need to sand first.

Here is the final product. I styled it a few different ways using stuff I already had. I must say my tropical shells look so pretty on it.

We have what they call heavy trash here. It is once a month and everyone scours each others trash. Trash to Treasure for sure. I have a little telephone table that I may try to re-do after seeing yours. Good job.
