Do you have any Star Wars fans in your family? My family all loved Star Wars and the new generation of TV shows. If you are looking for some cute Star Wars ornaments they don't exist.

I decided to try making them and it's a project that is easy enough for children. You can see all of my Star Wars ornament tutorials here.

To make a Chewbacca you don't need a lot of supplies, just felt, fur fabric, ribbon and pom poms. You'll need to make your own pattern about of cardboard or a manila folder.

Use scissors to cut the body out of fur (or felt). Then cut the same shape out of backing or cardboard. The fur can be difficult to cut, but you can trim it up once you get the body mostly cut out.

You can glue the backing (or cardboard) onto the fabric to make it firm enough to hang on the tree.

Next glue a diagonal black ribbon across his chest.

If you can find a decorative brown ribbon with some metal on it, you can layer this over the black ribbon with glue.

The last step is to glue on two black eyes. You can use black pom poms or sequins. I tried making some with fur and some with felt. The felt is much easier to work with, but I really like the fur ones.

I glued on a piece of burlap twine as a hanger. That's it.
