When we bought our French Country Cottage fixer upper a little over a year ago one of the first things we set about doing was updating the exterior.
Which translated into removing approximately 1,412 bushes. So.Many.Bushes.Other exterior updates included replacing the front door and shutters, changing the accent color to a gorgeous French blue, and installing the amazing and FREE solar system from Trinity Solar. Read more about how you can qualify for a FREE solar system from Trinity Solar and get a check for $750!We have done it on 2 of our houses now!
#1. Remove any unnecessary hardware. We had to leave the lock on because the automatic door opener wasn't working at the time, but eventually I removed the hardware and patched the small hole in the garage door with DryDex spackle, lightly sanded and then painted over it.
#2. Wipe down the door and touch up with a fresh coat of paint as needed. My go-to trim color is "Simply White" by Benjamin Moore.
#3. Lay out the magnetic hardware and place on the door according to the photo below.
Easy. Cheap. Adds instant charm!

Looks good! I applaud your work to improve your curb appeal. May I suggest two more ideas? [1] Install a tall tree (a gold variety of Japanese maple, such as Golden Dream, would pick up the front door color - and it stays under 10') at the home's left corner (the corner farthest from the garage door) and [2] replace the spindly corner support post of your front porch with a more substantial square beam. These two things are relatively easy and low-cost.

What Beth said. The posts should be about 6”x6” square in size. That would help frame out the front entrance door. I’ve included an edited version of your photo below with thicker posts added.

Did it. Like it a lot! Thanks for the idea.
I got the stickers with the rounded tops. They are a little too tall for the standard rectangular door "panels".
How on earth did you manage to get free solar system?
Good job! Do you think the magnets would survive Midwest winters?
