Tips on Organizing Craft Supplies

I have a lot of craft supplies and not a lot of room. My craft room is set up in a corner or my basement, so I need to maximize the space I have. I am sharing several tips on how I organize my craft supplies to make the best use of my space.

What I started with was not bad, but some of my supplies were still taking up space on my crafting surface.

I started with my utility cart, which I highly recommend. I reorganized it and used my Cricut to cut vinyl words to label each tray.

My friend was giving away a narrow self unit, so I scored it for free and found a bin at TJ Maxx to fit the top shelf, for storing my rolls of vinyl. I used my Cricut, iron on vinyl and EasyPress Mini to label the fabric bin that holds my rolls of Iron on vinyl.

On the lower shelf, I found 12X12 scrapbooking boxes at Michaels to hold supplies such as cardstock and felt squares. I also labeled them with vinyl.

I spray painted a wooden box to match the rose gold accents in my craft area, and used it to hold my rolls of regular vinyl and faux leather. It fit on the top of the utility cart.

Here is what the set up looks like for the narrow shelf and cart. It fits perfectly at the end of my work table.

This holder is store bought, but I labeled each jar with vinyl. It can easily be removed and changed if needed.

I added a couple of shelves above my work table to hold bins and containers with smaller supplies. Here I have a cup with my Cricut tools and a couple of wire baskets with things like glue, glue dots, yarn, and my pom pom maker. I used Command Hooks to keep my Cricut cutting mats within reach.

The top shelf contains plastic containers that hold misc crafting supplies. I used the same vinyl to label these.
