I had this frame and some thin pieces of wood laying around. I decided to make my own art work by flouting those two together, painting it and adding a transfer! Here’s how I created it! All products are available through my website, just click the link!

I cut the thin piece of wood to fit the frame.

I used this craft type glue to attach the price e of wood. It works great!

I made sure to apply the glue on the entire edge on the wood. Make it sure there was no bare areas.

Since this was an odd piece, I applied weight evenly on all the edges making sure the wood would stay in place and allow the glue to really bond the two. I waited 48 hours to ensure it was dry.

Now it’s time to paint! I chose purple tones. These colors coordinated with the transfer I chose.

I used all DIY Paint and finishes in Cherry Picked, French Millenary, copper Patina and clear wax and Iron orchid Designs transfer in Japonica.

I painted the frame entirely in Cherry Picked.

Two coats should ensure complete coverage. Let it dry completely.

I added some of the lighter purple (French Millenary) to the center to create a highlight.

Once the paint has dried overnight, Its time for the transfer. Cut the transfer to fit your area. Apply the transfer per the instructions of the company.

Once it’s applied, it’s time to seal!

Seal the transfer using the instructions by the manufacturer of the paint line you’re using.

If your frame has detail, a great way to accentuate it is with a metallic patina or paint. It really makes the details pop!

A little goes a long way!

Once you’re happy with your finished project. It’s time to seal! I used Clear wax.

Now you have created your known custom art work!
