Raise your hands if you are ready for Spring!!!! Once Christmas is packed up and put away I am ready….only problem is that I live in New Hampshire and we still have a ways to go.

So even though I still have a pretty winter wreath on my door outside my front door, on the inside it looks more like Spring. On my entryway table I just made a daffodil arrangement DIY using the same method as on my faux tulip bulbs last Spring.

Supplies For Daffodil Arrangement DIY

  • Daffodil Stems
  • 2 inch foam balls
  • Paper Lunch Bags
  • Mod Podge
  • Floral Foam
  • Container For Display

Daffodil Stems

First off, these are the cutest fake daffodils!

To start off, I cut the stems down a few inches (they were quite tall).

The next step was to take my wire cutters and gently remove some of the plastic stem to reveal the wire underneath.

I popped the stems through the foam ball. You want the wire part to come through the other end of the foam ball…this is what will hold your bulbs in place in the floral foam later.

Make The Faux Bulb

To make the faux bulb, I brushed Mod Podge all over the foam ball then covered it with a piece of the paper lunch bags.

Smooth the paper bag over the foam ball.

This part is a little sticky…brush Mod Podge over the paper bag and using your fingers smooth the paper bag on the foam ball in a upward motion; twisting where the bag meets the flower stem. You can trim off the excess paper around the stem later when everything is dry.

Add A Little Detail

Once the Mod Podge was dry; I added a little detail to make the bulbs look a little more realistic. Using brown craft paint I dry brushed the bulbs to pick up the wrinkles on the paper bag.

If you plan to use your bulbs in an arrangement where you can see the bottoms you can hot glue a small amount of Spanish moss to the bottoms to mimic the dried roots.

Choose A Container

To display the faux bulbs choose a container with a wide opening. I found this one on craftoutlet.com for $6.50. You will also need a block of floral foam.

After cutting a piece of floral foam to the size of my container I started adding the daffodil stems.

I added small green stones to cover the floral foam. Spanish moss or pieces of green moss would looks great too!

Finished Daffodil Arrangement

My daffodil arrangement is going on my entryway table. This would look so cute as a table centerpiece too or for an Easter tablescape.

Here’s my daffodil arrangement DIY on my entryway table along side the DIY topiaries I made last week and the lamp I refinished. My DIY heart wreath is hanging on my front door too.

Happy Spring, Friends!

I love narcissus but the hubs can't stand the fragrance. This is the perfect solution! Thanks for the idea!
