My most favorite DIY of the year, my girl's bathroom! Just like all of my projects, I tackled this one all by myself! I love the way that it turned out and that I could do it on a budget that didn't break the bank!

Best peach decals!

If you're feeling inspired by this project, these peach wall decals are the ones that Amazon reviewers swear by!

Here are the projects that I completed for this bathroom:

-4 ft Board and Batten on all of the bathroom walls

-painted the vanity

-painted the faucet

-painted the walls

-build shelves above the toilet

-installed 2 sets of hooks for towels

-installed a new light fixture

-installed a new toilet paper holder

-painted the trim on the bathroom door gold to match the rest of the fixtures

-added peach decals on the walls

Here is a before picture of their bathroom.

The first thing that I did was install the board and batten. I used 1x3 for the top and bottom trim and 1x1s for the battens. I chose to use common board because it was the most cost effective. Remember to always check your boards for any warping!

Then I caulked anywhere that the boards met the wall and filled my nail holes with wood filler. It's always best to over fill your nail holes so that when you sand down, it is nice and even.

I painted the board and batten Sherwin Williams "Snowbound" in a semigloss finish for durability.

Then I painted the walls, Sherwin Williams "Peach Mist" in an eggshell finish. It took me a few coats to cover the blue that was on the walls before.

The peach decals are from UrbanWalls and were so easy to put up! Once the paint was completely dry, I cut out the decals, applied them to the wall, used a card to smooth them on, and then peeled the backing off.

I sanded down the finish on the vanity and painted it with Valspar "Coastal Plain" it is my favorite shade of sage green. The drawer pulls I ordered from Amazon.

When I painted the faucet, the first thing that I did was clean and sand it down really well. It's important to sand it so that the paint adheres well.

Then I used a plastic drop cloth and taped off the sink, counter, and mirror. I made sure to open the door to the outside and turn the fan on when I was spraying.

I did the same when I sprayed the frame of the door's window the same gold to match.

The shelves I made with brackets that I ordered off of Amazon. They were originally black, but I sprayed them to be the same gold as the faucet, light fixture, and window trim. I used 8 inch common boards cut to the length I needed for the actual shelf. I wanted them to be natural, but I did give them a good sanding to get the yellow out of the finish.

I used the same light fixture that I had in the bathroom before, just spray painted it gold. I ran into some issues because the light fixture itself wasn't centered over the mirror. My solution was to take an extra piece of the board that I used for the shelves, but it to a square, painted it the same color as the walls, and then attached the light fixture to that board.

They key when doing this is to drill a hole in the center of the board where you will need to feed the wires through. When you go to install the light fixtures, connect your wires, and then secure the board to the wall. This allows you to easily center any fixture.

Then I could finally work on the finishing touches. These hooks are from Amazon and were installed similar to the wall you would a toilet paper holder, with an allen wrench. I attached them straight to the board and batten by the shower and then another set by the sink.

I used the same shower curtain rod and hooks that we already had, just spray painted them that same Rustoleum gold paint that I'd used throughout the bathroom.

This has been one of my favorite projects to date, I feel like it has completely transformed this space and made such an impact!!

How far up is the wood? I'm getting ready to do something similar, and trying to figure out where I want the wood to end. Love this idea.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS! Love the colors and the peaches even though they're not really thought of as bathroom items. I did my daughter's bathroom in tulips.
