"Found Object" Resin Paper Weight
Have some knick knacks you can't seem to get rid of? Make a beautiful paperweight with Upstart Epoxy Resin!
Use "found" items around your home to create a personalized paper weight! I used pom poms, seashells, rose petals, thumbtacks, and nails to give this a real upcycled feel. Upstart Epoxy is perfect for this project it is crystal clear with 35 minutes of working time. I added their gold mica powder and the shimmer is out of this world!
To get started, mix together 1 part resin and 1 part hardener.
Use a popsicle stick to stir until clear.
Pour a bit of resin into your mold, just enough to keep whatever objects you add to it from sticking out the top.
Next, go ahead and start placing your "found" objects in the mold. You can use flower petals, beads, or any other objects that you would like in your new paperweight. Layer the objects and epoxy resin making sure all the objects are covered.
Continue layering resin and your found objects.
You can also add a little shimmer to your new paperweight by mixing some of Upstart Epoxy's mica powder with epoxy to create a colored epoxy.

Use a heat gun to make sure there are no air bubbles. Leave the paperweight covered and let it sit for 12 hours.
There you have it! A gorgeous "Found Object" Resin Paper Weight.

That's very pretty!
I have a ton of "littles" (sentimental stuff) that are usually tucked away and never enjoyed because they're small...this would be a great way to let them out to play. : )
