Basement Makeover

I was asked to help a friend makeover her basement, so we planned and I came up with this.

This is where we started, she told me she wanted a modern industrial touch and she loved the geometric accent wall I did for my daughters bedroom 👇

So I went to work by drawing up a few different designs for her wall.

once I was happy with the design I went to the hardware store and purchased

a sheet of 1/2 mdf board

liquid nail

and some nails

and I grabbed some primer and paint

Once I got home I ripped my mdf board down to two inch strips.

First I started by filling in all the nail holes and then giving the accent a wall a coat of primer followed by the final color Rosephine by Benjamin Moore

Now that the wall is painted I took my boards that I previously ripped down and started cutting them to fit my design.

Using a level, I then applied liquid nail to the back of the boards and attached them with my nail gun.

Here it is with the fun design.

now it is time to fill in the nail holes and caulk the edges.

I used a fan to help with the dry time, once everything was dry and started brushing on the paint to the mdf boards.

Now it is time to decorate 🤍
