It's All in the Details

Wildflowers & Pistols

When I found this for sale I knew I had to have it! I fell in love with all of the detail and those claw feet! The finish wasn't in the best condition. The previous owner had dogs who had gnawed on the claw feet. If you follow my page then you already know that I'm a painter and I LOVE painted furniture. -this is not an antique
Although this is pretty nice as is.. it's a bit too stuffy for my taste and I know that some paint will really make all of that gorgeous detail stand out!
This is after two coats of The Hayloft's Milk Paint in a custom mix of Sugar cookie and Kitchen Sink. Link to purchase milk paint ----> https://www.etsy.com/listing/186986803/the-haylofts-milk-paint-milk-paint?
You can see here that the milk paint did it's thing and was flaking in some spots. This will help give an authentic aged look.
This is after the 3rd coat of paint and after I had sanded it all down giving it a butter smooth finish. Now it was time to glaze!
The picture on the left is before applying the glaze and the picture on the right is after the glaze. I used Rustoleums Glaze in Java Brown. Glaze adds so much depth!!
Looks naturally aged and beautiful!
I think this turned out beautifully! The milk paint and glaze really helped bring out all of that gorgeous detail! I love it!

My mom has a table that looks very much like this in oak. She has it in a seldom used living room so there is no wear to the table (she hangs out in her family room 'den'). Very heavy table and very solid piece of furniture. I like how you have transformed your piece and accented the lovely detailing
