OLD Blue Dresser Makeover!

I had a Blue Dresser that I had sitting in my basement for ever that kept screaming out TV Stand... TV Stand...But every time I went to the Basement I looked at it and kept saying to myself SELF... Today is the Day... Well by the time I finally decided to do something with it, It had so much piled on top of it that it took me the whole Day to dig it out... well I was bound and determined and I finally got it up the stairs and out side..and here is what I did with that OLD Blue Dresser
I stained all the slats and set them aside so I wouldn't get black paint on them. I then painted the outside and inside Black and distressed the edges. Then with my nail gun and some glue attached the slats
As You can see I already started to sand the Blue paint off the top
And I had already removed the drawers... I will probably use them for something else...
I then removed the back of the dresser because I wanted to give it that open look, and then removed the drawer runners and replaced them with a new bracket in the front and back centered for where the new shelf was going to be.
The decorative piece in front was from a piece of scrap board that I drew out the pattern and Cut it out with my jig saw.The Slats for the shelves are made out of a scrap 2x6 that I ripped on my table saw to 2"w x 1/2" Thick
I then thought I needed some storage bins to fit on the shelf so I had this drawer with this neat looking design on front that I thought would be great cut in half to make 2 bins
This is how they turned out.
Then I added some neat nickle plated handles to the bin and there you have it No more blue dresser instead a brand new TV Stand...and I did it all by myself..:)
