Allover Stencil "How To"

Many years ago I hand painted an entire room in fleur de lis. By the time I was done I hated it (it was painstaking) but it did get a great reaction and it looked nice.
For my cottage bedroom I was trying to find a way to create a custom accent wall without going through those pains again and wallpaper wasn't turning out to be the answer either.
I decided to go with an Allover Wall Stencil. If you've been thinking about trying one, check out the "how to" I just finished using the Royal Design Stencils. I love the designs, it was easy, a lot of work, but easy.
Let me know what do you think! love it, hate it? I'm curious.

(I'm working on posting the completed room next!)

why would you put that desk in front of a window and block the light? I don't get it.

    What paint did you use?

I'm thinking of doing my living room's three walls in gold, like yours, the accent wall has old/antique? wallpaper in browns and gold. (I don't know when old turns into antique: it was put up somewhere between the 1950s and the late '70s.) Do you think that would be overkill?

I know your bedroom is a work in progress, so a bit of leeway is justified in the 'eclectic' vibe. I am also curious about the large monitor in front of the window, though.

I have always thought putting your life on display on the internet, inviting comments, is incredibly brave.

I did an allover wall stencil in my guest bedroom and it looks ok but I wish I would have done it in more of a contrast. It is a little too subtle. Yours looks very nice. It is a lot of work but looks so good when done.

what are you doing with the rest of the room? Seems like a pretty eclectic hodge podge.
