Extremely Modern Thrift Store Dresser Transformed!

by Michaela Turiace
I took on a project for a friend's mom who recently purchased this mid-century modern dresser at a thrift store. She wanted a shabby chic look but was not particular on how much or any specifics. She just wanted me to tranform it and I believe I accomplished it. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!
so modern and scratched and out of date.
Yes this dresser was out of date but had good bones, with dovetailed craftsmanship. It was made well. My client room was a mix in color and she decided on painting with old town paint color Wasabi.
I started painting and was amazed at the transformation. This does not even look like the same dresser. It is so beautiful, with a little added distressing and clear and dark waxing it just came alive!
a total beauty!

I really think the drawer pulls make the piece just about perfect! You couldn't have chosen anything better with that paint color and treatment. Well done!
