The steps in our 1900 farmhouse were incredibly steep and narrow so it was one of the first major projects we tackled. With plenty of help from friends and family, it became a beautiful set of steps, complete with barn wood rails, a chandelier in the stairwell and eventually, carpet.
Can you say, "Steep?"

Progress!
Usable steps! Ready for the banister and balusters.
Almost finished!
Now, to put up new drywall, paint, stain and carpet!

@Rachael: nice project; beautiful wood - why not stain the stairs instead of carpeting? You can never have enough wood!
