Fabric Ornaments From Loved One's Clothing {A Special Memento}

When a loved one passes, you want to do something special to remember then each holiday season. I made these special ornaments for my siblings out of some of our Dad's favorite shirts. They're not perfect. They're kinda funny looking birds. But they're the perfect reminder of our father. Just seeing the patterns of his favorite shirts on the tree bring back so many memories.
SUPPLIES:

* Loved one's favorite shirts

* Felt or other fabric for wings

* Buttons for eyes

* Ribbons

* Needle and thread

* Stuffing
Our Dad's Favorite Shirts
Cut the following pieces for each bird:

* 2 small felt pieces for the wings (one on each side).

* 2 bird shapes (make sure they're mirrored ... meaning you can match them up face to face with right sides facing)
Sew the wings on:
With right sides facing, sew around the outside of the bird, but leave a 1" opening to flip and then stuff the bird:
Notice the gap along the bottom of the bird
Flip bird right side out:
Stuff and hand stitch closed. Then add a button eye to each side and a ribbon to hang with:
Hang and admire!
