The Easiest Toilet You'll Ever Install

2 Hours
Medium
As many of you know I helped remodel my Sister's bathroom and this involved tearing out the old blue 1970s toilet. Since the total area was roughly 25 square feet she decided to go with a round Cadet 3 toilet by American Standard.
This was by far the easiest toilet installation I've ever done. Primarily because you only need one tool to do it and it's provided with the toilet!!
And for once I didn't have to cut the closet flange bolts that come up from the floor because they decided to make the plastic covers tall instead of short.
If you'd like to see more pictures and discover some tips visit http://www.homerepairtutor.com/american-standard-cadet-3
Installing the Cadet 3 is easy because you only need one tool to do it.
They provide the wax ring
Instead of metal nuts they provide plastic ones to secure the toilet bowl to the closet flange bolts
Finally, tall closet bolt covers-this eliminates the need to saw the the bolts.
American Standard provides a special tool that you can use to install the entire Cadet 3 toilet
Finished installation minus the toilet seat, but that does come with the toilet. Plus, the seat slowly lowers to the bowl without slamming down.

Yes, we had moved in here 16 years ago, within a year, I noticed the toilet move, rocked, while sitting on it. I mentioned it to hubs, however he is one that if he ignores something it will take care of itself! Mainly because he doesnt know how to do much like that, and has no confidence. Well when the mobile home guy came to repair the toilet , he found rot in the water heater closet ,and the floor, so it all had to be taken out and rebuilt. Thankfully the insurance took care of it. But what was so awesome, was as he was looking at the bathroom he looked down the hall, and said..whoa! Your ceiling is bowed, may be the trusses, call your insurance agent. We did and sure enough the trusses were bad and a whole new roof was put on. It was from the big snowfall in 96, before we moved in.So many had roof problems that year. So that got fixed too. Great insurance! State Farm! At least for us! but I am glad to understand why some caulk and some dont. I will be sure to remember that, thanks @Kelly S and HRT!
