An Up-cycled Drawer Pedestal Plant Stand

One of my favorite projects of 2014 was a drawer pedestal plant stand that started out with this beat up $5 consignment shop drawer.
My first thought was to transform the drawer into a wall shelf.
But when I found this $7 wooden pedestal sitting outside at an antique shop, I decided the drawer and the pedestal were going to be married.
This large drawer pull was also selected for the project. I got this free!
All three pieces were painted in white and distressed, and the pieces were joined. I also added a liner of sheet metal to the bottom of the drawer for any flower pot leakage.
More details for this drawer/pedestal plant stand can be found on my blog!

Did the drawer fit completely over the top of the pedestal? Did you use a special glue to attach everything? I love how this seems to have been manufactured this way. It's lovely.
