Tips to Get Organized

Today, I’m sharing some Tips to get Organized. Since I’m not the queen of organization, I look to my friends for ideas and inspiration and thought I’d share a few with you.
One thing I know I’m guilty of is hanging on to things and for so many reasons. It was a gift or I might need it later. I remember watching an Oprah show years ago and one of the top organizers was on and he said one statement that really stuck with me. People tend to buy more or eat more to fill the need for something more. Whoa…..not me. No but if I can be honest there’s truth in there for me and I notice when I clean and declutter I feel a lot better and less stressed. So here’s to a new year for all of us.
This is a great list from Lifeyourway.net. If you’re not using it and it’s been over a year it may be time to give it away, donate it or sell it on Ebay (I shared tips on How to Sell Online here) or have a yard sale.
This is a great cleaning schedule from Bakerette.com and breaks it down by day and week and you can have your family members help you out as well.
Or maybe you don’t want to be so structured with a weekly schedule and a monthly would work better. I used this list from Six Sister’s Stuff last year which helped with deep cleaning one area each month and this will help with not feeling overwhelmed with all there is to do. I never feel that way, do you?……lol.
Have a command center in your home like this one from One Creative Housewife. Whether it’s in your kitchen or entry or office, have a place where you have your family calendar, messages, mail and anything else that is important to you. This will be your life saver and keep you organized.

Come on over to the blog where I also shared some more ideas to organized your offices, craft rooms, pantries and closets in Let’s Get Organized here . I also share some great tips on How to Clean Silver here and How to clean your Diamonds here.

The weekly chart is a great idea! I need to start making sure my place is tidy before I leave for work so I don't have more work to come home to!
