Vintage Desk Redo

My mother-in-law gave us a desk she picked up at a garage sale and I redid it over a three day weekend. I loved the shape and detail of the desk just not the beat up reddish stain. With a little work and elbow grease I have a desk I love. See the full reveal here - http://www.poofycheeks.com/2015/01/two-toned-chalk-paint-vintage-desk-redo.html
I started out by sanding down the top of the desk and staining it a dark color. Then I used chalk paint for the bottom.
I used a very light gray chalk paint on the drawers and bottom of the desk. I sealed the drawers in clear wax and the desk with a mixture of dark and clean waxes to give it an aged/weathered look.
Progress...
Left picture shows before I stained and right shows after the stain was applied.
The top of the desk turned out stunningly beautiful.
I left the original hardware on for now but am looking to change it in the future. To see a full image of the finished desk see it here >> http://www.poofycheeks.com/2015/01/two-toned-chalk-paint-vintage-desk-redo.html
