DIY Metallic Color Blocked Canisters

When you get tired of your cobalt blue canisters you can easily spray paint them with a metallic color block pattern. That’s exactly what I decided to do with my thrift store canisters.
I had contemplated donating my cobalt kitchen canisters because the color wasn’t making me happy anymore. But, then I realized that I could give them an entirely new look with some spray paint.
Get the full materials list on my blog - link below under photos.

Use a sanding block to lightly rough up the surface of the canisters. Wipe all the sanding dust off with a damp rag.
After sanding, prime the entire canister - see blog link for complete tutorial.

Once the canisters have completely dried, use painter’s tape to mask off the top of the canisters.
Spray paint the bases using copper spray paint.
Fill your canisters with anything your heart desires. I used mine to corral my paint brushes and art supplies.

Are you on a purging mission too? Is there anything you have that could get a quick makeover with spray paint?
