Restore Furniture Hardware

Easy
Many times I will replace hardware or even spray paint it but not this time. I decided to bring a little life back into these awesome pieces.
This post is part of a new series I have started on my blog called Quick Tip Friday! You can see the entire post by clicking the link at the bottom.
This furniture hardware had seen better days. This is how the hardware looked when I removed it from a dated piece of furniture from the 80's
These 2 products gave this old hardware a new look. Be sure to use the grade steel wool so you don't scratch the hardware.
Look how much better each piece looked. I didn't clean completely in the grooves because liked how it left some character.
This is how it looked after I painted the furniture and put it back on.

I have a over 100 yr old brass bed. It looks it's age do u think this method would work to brighten it up. Would it take away the value of the piece.
