I went shopping in my basement and decided to bring this upstairs to my office... after a little bit of make-up of course.

Can anyone tell me who manufactured these desk/filing cabinets? They are fabulous and I want to be on the lookout for one.

I have a cabinet just like this at home, but the one part is locked and we can't find the key to it. It was my grandmother's who is now passed on. I was wondering how can I pick the lock or break it without really damaging the cabinet. Does anyone know? Thank you Wendy Bagby

  @Wendy Bagby I would call a locksmith or check online to see if anyone sells old cabinet keys. I'd love to see your Grandmother's ;)

  @CeeJai Thanks so much for getting in touch with me. I have had it for very long time now. I used to know a very good locksmith. He has passed on now too. I will have to find another one. I have hoped to have found the keys. My youngest son loved keys when he was little and misplaced them. LOL I will have to do this project and send you a picture of mine when I get it finished. :)

  I bought one at a resale shop - no key. Mine had a tiny number engraved on the lock so I took that number to a locksmith and had 2 keys made in 5 minutes for less than $5. Yippee.

  Oh thank you Vicki for telling me that. I haven't worked on my cabinet yet due to all the work I'm doing outside this spring and summer :) I do appreciate that advice very much. :)
