Scrap Wood and Spoon Wall Sconce

Our foyer is dark, with only a ceiling fixture to light it up. I'm working on brightening up the space, and decided to add some rustic wall sconces for a little extra sparkle.
I started with scrap wood, 1x2's to be exact. They are cut into 10 inch pieces and attached side by side with wood glue.
After the glue was dry, I sanded them mostly smooth, and added a light coat of stain in dark walnut.
The next step was to add a picture hanger on the back. I like to use a pair of kids' scissors to hold those tiny nails.
My husband bent my thrift store serving spoons at a right angle. Perfect for holding a tiny battery operated candle.
These will add just a little extra light and some rustic charm to our foyer.
