Headboard Turned Bed and Breakfast Sign

I was cruising down an aisle of a local thrift store a couple of weeks ago when a pile of dated hotel room headboards caught my eye. I knew the shape would be perfect for creating a sign. So this one became a Bed and Breakfast sign:
Here is what it looked like before:
Pretty boring, but isn't the shape ideal for a sign?
I used blockposters.com to print out the words I created on my computer. Then I had my little helper help me transfer the graphics. (See the link at the bottom of this post for all those details.)
He's a cutie and he works for cookies. :)

The letters were painted in using black acrylic paint.
These little metal details were hooks I found with the hardware at Hobby Lobby, but I wacked the hooks off the bottom and spray painted them...
I'm really pleased with the outcome! I ended going back and purchasing two more just like it.
This is probably the best part...it was $3.49!!
Hope you enjoyed this post! Maybe you'll see headboards in a whole new way now? I have two more. What would you do with them?
