Insulator Turned Planter

I needed to find something small for my new little succulent plant. I have a ton of insulators because I collect them and just love the blue color ones. The plant fit perfectly.
I took some wire I had. Not sure of the gauge, I got it at Home Depot, its pretty thick. I wired it around the insulator and up to make a loop. I also added some pretty beads. Its hanging in my sunroom. I may need to make a drainage hold in the bottom. I will see how the plant does. It doesn't require much water so hopefully its good like this.
These are the before of the planter. pretty just sitting but prettier as a planter

I took one of my to a lamp maker and he. Would not try to drill a hole, for fear he would break it.

I took a fairly heavy metal chain & wired my insulators on the chain about every 12 inches & made a massive outdoor swag. I am
fortunate to have a huge steel beam from which to hang the insulator swag. Have considered placing small solar lights in each one
but haven’t done yet. I did not have to drill any holes in them. Very pleased w final product.
