Coffee Sack Covered Cabinet

We've been updating our basement and we needed a multipurpose cabinet that would blend be kind of rustic yet it would fit in well next to my husbands pinball and other game room pieces. I had purchase a bunch of used coffee sacks, for $1 each, so I thought I'd try to use then for the design.

We also got luck and found an old kitchen cabinet piece for $10. Now we needed this piece to double as a kittly liter cabinet, which my not be ideal for some people, I understand.

Anyways, Ken cut the cabinet down and modified it to work as a kitty litter cabinet. We painted it white.

I washed the burlap coffee sacks first.

And then I cut pieces large enough to decoupage to the cabinet doors and drawers.

As the decoupage began to dry, I trimmed down the burlap.

and then I rolled the paint along the edges to cover up the white paint showing on the ends of the doors/ drawers.

Once the paint was dry, I gave the doors/ drawers a few more good coats of decoupage.

I also gave the cabinet top several coats of chalkboard paint.

Now it's a kitty cabinet/ table top for serving drinks or coffee when we have company.

It fits in with our basement decor, saves space and keeps our basement looking more put together.
