Decoart Chalky Finish Paint Makeover: Tea Light Holder

I purchased a wooden loaf pan serving tray at the thrift shop for $2.99, and gave it a repurpose and makeover with Decoart Chalky Finish Paint.
This is my thrift shop loaf pan holder before painting.
This is my very first project with Decoart Americana Chalky Finish Paint. I am using the color "Primitive".
I also used a pine rosette (purchased at Menard's), for my re-purpose project. I painted it with "Primitive" as well.
After I distressed the piece with sandpaper, I attached the rosette to the loaf pan, added a stencil number "2", and nailed on a quarter cup measuring cup to hold the tea light.
All the details for this project are on my blog!

How did you attach the rosette? Super glue? Nails? Screws? Bracket?
