Farmhouse renovation complete!

I loved this house as soon as I saw it. Abutting a plant nursery, a converted barn- now a house- and tennis courts across the street.
The location was great but to quote my painter friend, "this house is sad."
Years of burning wood fires had left every surface dingy, dark and oily with soot. I wanted to make it warm, airy and cozy using creams, yellows, grays, whites with a few bright accents.
Freshly sanded floors, all new light fixtures, fresh paint, hardware, appliances... and some more important behind the scenes updates turned this house into a home.
Let me know what you think!
Den fireplace
Den after
Stairway to nowhere..
We kept the stairs for now and painted all the interior doors Revere Pewter for contrast and durability
I love painting brick
Heat resistant Rustoleum inside and Pewter Manor Hall paint on the brick
Dining area before
I'll get to those roman blinds eventually
Dark and drab kitchen
Gray solid stain on the floors, sparkly quartz counters and stainless appliances
I wanted to keep the greenhouse window
Fresh glass gives a great view of the farm!
Grandma's kitchen
Modern kitchen. Manor Hall alkyld paint on the cabinets.
New fan, lights, painted beams
Boring chandelier
I found this fun light on Overstock. Why not?
Dirty and dingy
Move this dresser and this is a great office nook.
Boy bedroom. Yuck.
After. White Truffle by Behr and Delicate White trim
Fresh paint, towel storage, wide white blind
Tub before
Freshly enameled. This heater is awesome. I'm keeping it!
New living room. (including one hour old copper pipe. We had a radiator leak at the 11th hour...)
Adding mirrors to open up the corners
I'm still looking for a great wall paper for inside this cabinet.
Eventually the tv will go over the fireplace with components in the cabinet.
Girl room before
She requested orange so we compromised with one interior wall. This room GLOWS!
Boy room. Each child's room got an accent wall.

The kitchen floor was a pre-finished white oak and was that light yellow color. It looked very prefab next to the fir floors everywhere else so I opted to stain it a dark gray. My house has quarter sawn white oak stained driftwood gray and they hide dust and scratches beautifully. This gray is a combo of black and white stain, 4 coats, and I believe as it wears out should look really nice.
