Amazing Foyer Transformation

Not even the most gorgeous turquoise bookshelf could mask the dated wallpaper, blah-beige paint and dingy carpet that once filled our front entry. With a little bit of imagination and A LOT of paint, we transformed the space that welcomes people to our home into something more "us."
Crisp, white paint (Alabaster White from Sherwin Williams) replaced the fleshy beige that once covered the walls.
A colorful, Moroccan-inspired trellis stencil replaced the brown damask wallpaper beneath the chair rail.
All that white called for a bit of a pop so we painted the stair railing bright turquoise to match the bookcase.
Using satin finish paint for the stencil, there is not only pattern, but a bit of texture against the flat wall paint.
The white paint continues along the upstairs hallway.
Here we display a DIY button Monogram and images from a beach vacation made to look like watercolors using the Waterlogue app on the iPhone.

I am impressed by your stenciling. How long did it take you?
