Problem Solved: Protected Cat Food Area, No Dogs Allowed!

Our aging cat had a problem ...... she couldn't jump like she used too, and her food was on the laundry room counter to keep the dog out of it.
So I devised a simple solution to let the cat in, keep the dog out, and reclaim the counter space for folding clothes.
Finished and installed Cat Cafe that keeps the hound dog out!
Scraps from the wood pile provided a simple build with an opening large enough for the cat to walk in but the dogs greedy face to stay out.
The cat cafe is three sided since it was made to fit in a corner under the laundry basket shelf, the base screwed right to the wall.
Painted in white with cast-off hardware from the junk drawer, there is a gate hook so it can be opened to feed and change the cats' water.
No longer can anyone fling a sock and have it land in the cat's water dish.

Problem solved - the cat food area is now self serve. Happy cat = mad dog.

That is so cute! My chihuahuas liked cat food too so we moved the food up to a counter. Dogs have since passed away but we have 2 cats still. Problem now is an almost 4 year old grandson that lives here who can reach the water bowl. He likes to give his small toys baths! Lol no solution there! Wherever we move the water to he finds it or grabs a stool to get to it.

I love this. What a great idea. Our dogs would gobble up the cat food too!
