For this project I use up some of my scrap wood I had been accumulating to build a scrap wood Fish Sculpture that resembles a Tarpon. The scrap wood I used was from old pallets and reclaimed wood that I had used on a few other woodworking projects. The two main tools I used for this woodworking project was a bandsaw and a sander to shape and smooth the wood. I also used a Ryobi Battery Nail Gun and wood glue to fasten all the pieces of scrap wood. The finish I used was Boiled Linseed Oil and Spray Lacquer.
I really had a lot of fun building this artistic wood sculpture and I'm really pleased on how everything turned out!
The Scrap Wood Pile.
The Driftwood Base.
I attached a center post into the driftwood that would allow me to attach all the other wood to it.
The beginnings of building up the insides of the Sculpture.
After I put the face on the fish really started to take shape.
The fish put together without any finish yet.
The finish was boiled linseed oil and high gloss lacquer.
