Fresh white kitchen

Our builder-basic oak kitchen was in need of a little overhaul. With small changes over time (paint, tile floors, appliances, lighting), we were able to update it into a light and bright space.
Our white painted cabinets and updated floors make the room feel sooo much bigger. http://www.madiganmade.com/2010/07/permanent-work-in-progress.html
Our new floors and kitchen table (with a big DIY chalkboard, too) More details here: http://www.madiganmade.com/2010/07/permanent-work-in-progress.html

Hi Shannon! My husband and I are blown away - your "old"kitchen is EXACTLY what ours looks like now. We are so interested in learning more details on painting the cabinets. Did you have to sand them first, use primer? How many coats and what kind/brand of paint did you use?

I wonder the same Pam. I have 1980's solid oak and have a hard time with the thought of painting over good wood, but then the second issue is how.
