Pallet Stars and Stripes DIY

Just in time for Memorial Day and the 4th of July a star using up all those leftover pieces of pallet wood. I really love the flags made out of pallet wood, and I think a pallet is the perfect starting point for a flag, but I wanted something a bit different.
Using a miter saw Reclaimed Pallet Wood is cut into a star shape.

For this star I started out with 10, 13 inch lengths of pallet wood mitered at the ends. The thirteen inch lengths of wood will give you a star 33 inches wide.

Pallet wood is painted in red and white then sanded and tinted with a dark wax.
Each piece of red and white pallet wood is cut individually to provide a backing for the pallet wood star.
