A Southwestern Chair Makeover

Country Chic Paint
by Country Chic Paint
Come see the incredible transformation Robin from Redo It Yourself Inspirations did on this roadside find! She took it from dark and dreary and made it a southern beauty with Bliss, antiquing wax, and some new upholstery.
This curbside chair was missing arms that were removed, with screws left behind.
It was also a little distressed and it was a dark and dreary looking piece.
After removing the screws, there were two that couldn't be taken out easily. So I used a grinder to take them down to the wood surface and then sanded the entire chair in preparation for painting.
I used "Bliss". It's a beautiful turquoise color. I applied one thin coat, so that some of the wood grain could still show through most areas.
While the paint was drying, I reupholstered the seat with new foam and fabric.
After the chair dried, I used Dark Antiquing Wax to bring out all of the crevices and details.
